A recent study by the Carolina Geriatric Education Center, found the Otago Exercise Program reduced falls by as much has 35-40%1. Otago focuses on reducing falls by increasing strength and balance through physical therapy prescribed home exercises. This 35-40% decrease in falls, was correlated with completing the Otago home exercises and walking for 30 minutes, three times per week.
