Sioux Falls, SD (October 15, 2024) – Blue Stone Therapy, Iowa’s premier provider of contract therapy services for older adults, has expanded its reach through the acquisition of Goodcare LLC, Goodcare AtHome Rehab LLC, and Alpine Therapy.
Based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Goodcare and Goodcare AtHome Rehab have provided therapy services since 2009. Goodcare offers contract therapy to skilled nursing facilities, school systems, and outpatient centers across Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota. Goodcare AtHome Rehab specializes in outpatient therapy for Assisted Living and Independent Living Communities in South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska. Together, these companies employ 85 therapists and deliver therapy and wellness programs across five states.
“On August 1st, we were thrilled to welcome the teams from Goodcare and Goodcare AtHome Rehab into the Blue Stone Therapy family,” said Doug Johnson, Founder & CEO of Blue Stone Therapy. “They’ve established a fantastic culture, built a strong brand around top-notch services, and have exceptional leadership. There’s so much potential for collaboration and sharing best practices, which will help us all improve satisfaction for our partners, therapists, and most importantly, our patients.”
Goodcare and Goodcare AtHome Rehab will continue to operate as independent entities with their own leadership and support teams. Polly Rames, MS OTR/L, serves as the Regional Vice President of Operations for Goodcare and Alpine Therapy, while Jill Gabbert, OTR/L CAPS, who founded Goodcare AtHome Rehab in 2014, is the Regional Vice President of Outpatient Therapy.
“Our team couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the Blue Stone Therapy family,” said Jill Gabbert, Regional Vice President of Outpatient Therapy at Goodcare AtHome Rehab. “This process started over a year ago, and we needed to select a company with deep expertise, strong leadership, and a genuine passion for service. From the start, it was clear that Blue Stone Therapy stood out from the rest. We’ve been impressed by their energy and forward-thinking vision.”
With the acquisition of Goodcare, Goodcare AtHome Rehab, and Alpine Therapy, the Blue Stone Therapy family of companies now provides contract rehabilitation services and outpatient therapy in 6 states and employs more than 900 therapists.
“Our goal is to enhance 10,000 lives a day and this acquisition moves us closer to our vision,” said Theresa Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Blue Stone Therapy. “The teams at Goodcare are independent operating units that have experienced leadership so there is no impact on any of our companies. This is a great opportunity to expand our footprint strategically while strengthening all of our service lines.”
